Technology Update: The UVI Libraries will observe reduced operating hours during Summer II

Office of the CIO

June 20, 2011

Greetings UVI Community,

The UVI Libraries will observe reduced operating hours during Summer II as follows:
Closed on Saturdays, beginning Saturday, June 25th
Open on Sundays, 3:00pm – 8:00pm, beginning Sunday, June 26th

The reduced library service resulting from the recent budget cut is a pilot of the operating schedule previously announced by the Office of the CIO for comment. Please continue to provide feedback to inform decision-making for the fall semester and the schedule going forward. There are no classes on Saturday and Sunday during Summer II, so the reduced services pilot will not directly impact the course schedule.

Students will have access to e-books and other online library resources at any time by going to http://library.uvi.edu.

Lab Access:

On St. Croix campus students will be able to utilize the NWW 120 Lab. Students may request access through the Security Department. Students must present their UVI ID and sign in order to gain access.

On St. Thomas campus the 24/7 library lab is available for students with their ID key cards.

St. Thomas: 24/7
St. Croix: NWW 120 Labs

If you have any questions or concerns regarding our new operating hours please feel free to share them with us. Comments can be forwarded to helpdesk@uvi.edu or to any member of the ITS component.
