Blackboard Access, Week of 9/19/08

Blackboard access has been fully functional for most of the week. Blackboard did have approx. one hour of downtime on 9/18 but this was related to a UVI network issue and not the Blackboard servers.
ITS is aware of a Java script error that occurs while using certain Blackboard tools. When the error pops up, please click OK to continue. This error will be resolved when we take the Blackboard servers offline for maintenance.

Attention Facebook Users

There is an application that you can add to your Facebook account that will allow you to access items from your Blackboard courses via Face-book. Simply search for 'Blackboard Sync', then add the app to your account.

Exchange mailbox migration update and troubleshooting hints

Hello all,

The migration effort went smoothly over the weekend, but was not completed. We will continue moving users between 11:00 pm and 4:00 am this week and if needed, over the upcoming weekend.

Please note a couple of important troubleshooting hints.

1. If a user complains that they are not receiving mail, please have them first check that the auto archive and cache features are disabled within Outlook. Then have them log out of the UVI Network and log back in, restarting Outlook.
2. The following return message may bounce back to senders if sent during the migration period. Please reassure the user by explaining that this message is a result of the migration effort. The user can resend the message after the designated migration period.

“Your message did not reach some or all of the intended recipients”. User Name on date time.
The message was undeliverable because the recipient specified has changed address permanently and forwarding was not applicable

Thanks,
Kelly Harrigan
